Proposal for Cornell University Sustainable Design's schoolhouse design-build competition. Chosen as one of six finalists.
This schoolhouse explores the variation possible in a brick wall, using budget constraints to an advantage. From the exterior, the wall is solid and protective. Following the spiraling circulation inside, it becomes permeable, allowing objects and people to occupy it and providing views to the landscape. The final destination is an open courtyard, a secret garden within the fortified walls.
